Kate has used a variety of mediums since leaving art college in the 80’s and has experimented with various forms of painting and drawing including portraiture, landscape and still life ever sinse.
Attending The London School of Portraiture for a year as a mature student Kate says.. “I wanted to perfect my drawing skillset as I knew it would improve my landscape observation and technical ability” She then subsequently went into teach art in Wiltshire and Bath for a further two years, Kate now works in her studio painting most days.
Sometimes working from unusual photographic aerial views allows Kate to consider the landscape from a unique perspective using an accurate scaled up version of the image She creates paintings that explore the abstract aspects of nature. She also works from images and is inspired by colour, texture and shapes. Kate works in oils and wax finishes creating pieces on wood panel.
